“New Negro” is a term popularized during the Harlem Renaissance referring to Black Americans speaking up, telling their own stories, and affirming their various identities in order to dismantle outdated assumptions and beliefs. This show is KINDA doing that, but jokes.
New Negroes LIVE! is a monthly meeting of comedy minds at The Virgil, Los Angeles. Baron Vaughn (Grace & Frankie, Corporate) and rapper Open Mike Eagle (RollingStone's 50 Best Albums of 2017) host an array of black voices navigating their way through the bulls##t. Come and enjoy a night of comedy and music every 4th Sunday.
Past performers include Hannibal Burress (Netflix), Sasheer Zamata (SNL), and Lil Rel Howery (Get Out).
This month’s guests:
Sasheer Zamata! Langston Kerman! Janelle James! Troy Walker! Yusuf Ali! Katrina Davis!
